Our plans consisted of 4 distinct segments: the city, the ruins, the beach, the jungle. Before the fun could begin, we first had to get to Bangkok. We departed on a dreary Birmingham morning. After arriving in Houston, our 14 hour flight to Tokyo began. An 8 hour flight to Bangkok and we had arrived. Finally, our wait was over. After a two hour flight, we landed in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. A bit of a transient city, Kuala Lumpur is host to a multitude of cultures. We spent our time in the city exploring the city center located around the Petronas Towers and by visiting Batu Caves.
For our second adventure, we visited the Angkor Wat temple complex in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The temples date back to the 12th century and form one of the largest temple complexes in the world.

Overall the our honeymoon was everything we had hoped for. The sights were beautiful and the people throughout Southeast Asia were incredibly warm hearted and inviting. We never felt in any danger and received repeated help from the locals. I would encourage anyone that has a chance to visit the region.
