Joy and I spent a\u00a0couple hours in Nashville.\u00a0 I took a few pictures to capture the city against the\u00a0dramatic clouds.\u00a0 With this scene,\u00a0the combination of the deep\u00a0shadows\u00a0along the city streets and the bright, sunlit clouds made it impossible to fully capture with a single exposure.\u00a0 Therefor I took three pictures at different\u00a0exposures and later combined them using software (HDR Efex Pro<\/a>).\u00a0 This technique is known as high dynamic range (HDR) photography.\u00a0\u00a0Depending on how the image is processed, you\u00a0may not\u00a0even be able to tell\u00a0the\u00a0technique\u00a0was used.\u00a0 While in other cases, it can be used to render pictures that almost look cartoonish.<\/p>\n
